Every creature has senses, in multiple ways of the word.
They have common sense, their sense of themselves and the world, and their body's senses.
All of these sense help a creature navigate through life:
common sense to cover their bases, intuition to physically navigate the world, bodily senses to be aware of the world.
On the other hand, objects do not have senses.
They cannot observse the world nor do they have an conception of it or themselves.
Every creature with a wisdom score has senses and can use them to drive their actions.
These senses can be extended and dispersed to objects by thinning their senses of themselves and within their own body to possess an object.
Each time a creature possesses an object, they become less aware and their intuition begins to have gaps.
A creature can do this without measurable ill effect a number of times per day equal to half their HD + their Wisdom modifier (minimum one).
A creature can continue possessing objects after this point if they pass a Wisdom check (DC 10 + 2 per extra attempt).
If the check fails, they take 2 Wisdom damage.
To possess an object, a creature may use anywhere from 0 to all of their available bonus on their Wisdom check.
If the possession was successful and must be maintained, the amount of bonus used in the possession is no longer
available for use for subsequent checks until the possession is released.
A character can at most possess a number of objects equal to their HD plus Wisdom mod (minimum 1).
