DESCRIPTION

This scope appears to be a normal scope at first glance. Upon closer inspection, the two lenses at each end of the scope an be detached and its base morphs to attach to most surfaces.

Each end of the scope acts as a modified, constant scrying spell that scries on the other. In effect, looking through one lens lets the user see out the opposite side of the other lens and vice versa for both sides of the lenses. Most spells requiring line of sight can be cast through the lenses and have a 20% chance of success per caster level. In addition, the following spells have a 100% success chance: detect chaos, detect evil, detect good, detect law, detect magic, and message.

Each lens can be worn as a monocle and the holder of the body of the scope knows where each lens is as if it were affected by guiding star instead of a locale. Once per day, the body of the scope can be used to return (via teleport) both lenses to it.

When using both lenses attached to the scope, the user gains a +3 cicumstance bonus to perception. When also mounted to a ranged weapon, the user gains a +2 cicumstance bonus to attack and the weapon's range increment increase by 10 ft.

Once a day, the scope gains one charge of a random detect spell. This refreshes at midnight and any user automatically knows which spell is contained. Activating this does not require a use magic device check and does not require concentration to maintain, but once active, it lasts the full duration.

Result Spell
0-19 Detect chaos
20-39 Detect evil
40-59 Detect good
60-79 Detect law
80-99 Detect magic

Additionally, once per day, if the lenses and scope are together, it can be used to cast mending on the object it's attached to.

The holder of the body of the scope can expend one use of mythic power as a standard action to turn both lenses of the scope into portals of the same size as the lenses for up to one minute. The directions the portals work in and are connected in are the same as how scrying through them work. While they are portals, spells can be cast through them and have a 30% chance of success per caster level, up to 90%. Detect spells and message still have 100% success chance.

Additionally, during this minute, the holder of the body of the scope can cast random detect spells at will and can cast message at will. Unlike the scope's standard detect spell, this does not modify the detect spell in any way.

Others bonded can expend one use of mythic power as a free action to use the body of the scope as the source of an effect they perform for up to one minute. If the effect lasts longer than a minute, it returns to the previous source afterwards. If the effect was not active before and lasts longer than a minute, the source that it will return to must be chosen before activating. They also gain the ability to cast random detect spells and message at will.

When endowed with mythic power, the scope gains various traits.

Mythic Power Endowed Effect
1 Each day, roll a random detect spell. For that day, looking through the scope treats the viewer as casting that spell.
2 When attached to a ranged weapon, the scope enhances its damage by 1d4. This damage is multiplied on a critical hit.
3 Once a day, auto mend??
The natural command of the scope is "pierce." When the body of the scope is bestowed with three points of mythic power and given the command "pierce," the scope allows the user to spend one point of mythic power studied strike and to smite a target. To do so, the user must decide on an alignment they think the target is. If the guess is correct on at least one axis, the user gains the ability to use studied combat and studied strike against the target using their HD as their effective investigator level, except that the user can use a ranged weapon as long as they are within 30ft. If the guess is exactly correct, the user can also smite the target using their HD as their effective paladin level.

Additionally, if the guess is incorrect, that decision cannot be changed for a year even if new information is revealed. This decision is made for the scope, not the user. This also means that detect spells from the scope will detect the target as the guessed alignment.

When the lenses of the scope are each bestowed with one point of mythic power and given the command "pierce," the lenses can be extended to up to a foot in diameter as a standard action and more easily pierce space. Each lens extends to the same length. Additionally, when spending mythic power to turn the lenses into portals, they act as true portals and the effect lasts one hour. The true portals do not work across planes.

While the body of the scope is bestowed with any amount of mythic power alongside the command "pierce," the user can crush the scope and sprinkle it onto their eyes as a standard action. Doing so, the user can pick one target to permanently gain the benefits of studied combat, studied strike, and smite against. These effects are always active, take no action, and do not count towards other uses of those abilities. The user can choose to plane shift and teleport one lens to it without mishap chance. If a lens is plane shifted in this way, the user can also return the lens to themselves via plane shift and teleport once per day. This effect is powered innately and cannot be severed other than by primordial creation. The body of the scope is no longer part of the artifact and any effects that rely on it no longer function.

While a lens of the scope is bestowed with any amount of mythic power alongside the command "pierce," the user can crush the lenses and sprinkle the powder over their eyes as a standard action. The user gains a permanent, undetectable greater scrying sensor on a target, automatically overcoming spell resistance and allowing no saves. To select the target, the user only needs to be able to uniquely identify the target. The scrying sensor follows the target without fail. The sensor has true seeing and every detect spell active on it. The spells automatically succeed any rolls, also cannot be detected, and applies to everything in the sensor's range. The user can also planeshift to the same plane as the target once per day and can teleport to the target once per day. This effect is powered innately and cannot be severed other than by primordial creation.
